Leadership and Faculty
The Board of Trustees is responsible for ensuring that the mission of the school is fulfilled through the hiring of and partnership with the Head of School. The Board sets long term strategic planning for capital and financial needs. Annual budgets, fundraising programs, tuition assistance policies, and governance issues are under the oversight of the Board with the parternship of school professionals.

Education: BA in Judaic Studies with an Education Concentration, Masters in Curriculum and Instruction, Pursuing a doctorate in Teaching and Learning
Background: Mrs. Lev was raised in a suburban community in New York and attended high school in Manhattan, but made one of the best decisions of her life in 2006 and moved to Denver. She started teaching in 1998 and has taught both Judaic and General studies classes to many ages from two years old through adults. Mrs. Lev is passionate about education, her students, DAT, her community, and her family. She is married to Dovid Lev. They are raising their two amazing children, Ayelet and Daniella, both current DAT sudents.
What I love about teaching/working: Everything! The students, the academic rigor in Judaic and General studies, the opportunity to help students explore options and directions for after high school, the support of colleagues and community, the relationships, and the feeling of being in warm and welcoming place.
Mrs. Lisa Stroll Ext: 111
Dean of Student and Academic Affairs, K-8

Education: Mrs. Stroll holds a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education, a Master’s in Educational Leadership and Administration, and participated in both the Harvard Graduate School of Education Principal’s Center program and YU Lead, a leadership development program through Yeshiva University.
Mrs. Stroll has over fifteen years of teaching experience in Middle School, and most recently served as an Assistant Principal at Torah Day School of Atlanta. Lisa’s professional nature, dedication to building student community and culture, and love of education are part of what make her an exciting addition to the DAT faculty. Lisa and her husband, Lawrence Stroll, moved to Denver this past summer with three of their four children. Their two younger children are currently enrolled at DAT.

What I love about teaching at DAT: I have always enjoyed helping children become lifelong learners. I feel that I need to imbue in my students that learning goes far beyond the classroom, and that they should take advantage of the many learning possibilities and opportunities they are always encountering. I have tried, and hope to continue to make school an overall positive experience for all the students that touch my life.
Faith Dyrsten, MaEd. Ext: 115
Dean of Experiential Education, Administrator, 9-12

Mrs. Dyrsten has been on the DAT Faculty since 2011 working to create amazing experiences for student learning. She is an administrator and Dean of Experiential Education, coordinating our Immersion trips, ECE field trips, internships, and service learning program at the high school. She has built an amazing Art Program taking students from Introductory to Design to expert classes at and above the AP level. Her complete love for art, passion for education, and commitment to our school and community make her an invaluable member of our staff. Mrs. Dyrsten holds a BFA in Studio Art and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction K-12 both from University of Denver. She and her husband, Charlie, live in Denver, CO.
Mrs. Liora Wittlin Ext: 302
Dean of Student Affairs, 9-12
Teaching since: 2006

Education: Mrs. Wittlin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Judaic Studies from Yeshiva University Stern College and was a YU Teach Legacy Heritage Fellow. Mrs. Wittlin also attended Darchei Binah seminary in Israel for two years and has a Morah LaGolah teaching certificate from the Misrad HaChinuch (Israeli Ministry of Education.)
Mrs. Wittlin is joining the DAT HS faculty with over a decade of teaching experience, most recently in Memphis, TN. She has designed and implemented Tanach curricula and loves guiding students as they explore the multitude of mefarshim and life lessons to be learned through Torah study. Mrs. Wittlin, her husband Avi, and their four sons just moved to Denver this past summer.
Amy Berkowitz Caplan, MSW, MAJCS Ext: 117

Education: Master of Social Work, University of Southern California, Master of Jewish Communal Service, Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion's School of Jewish Nonprofit Management.
What I love about working at DAT: I love having the opportunity to build our school community! We have a tremendous school both academically and Judaically. We have happy, confident students who are nurtured by their teachers and classmates. It is such a pleasure to welcome new students and families to our DAT community. My husband, Ilan, and I are thrilled to have our three children attend Denver Academy of Torah.

Education: Nursing Assistant Diploma from Emily Griffith Technical College, BA in History and Judaic Studies from Smith College and The Hebrew University of Jerusalem
What I love about working at DAT: I love the opportunity to learn from and to work with students from kindergarten through 8th grade.
